The Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolemen has reiterated Federal Government’s commitment towards the repair of Maiha – Sorau road in Adamawa State, which he said is of economic interest and important for national integration.
He stated this when the Governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtal Nyako paid him a courtesy visit in his office Friday, 19th, 2013.
The Minister explained that the road was awarded since seven years ago but the advance payment made to the contractor was not fully amortized which delayed the procurement process. However, the Minister expressed optimism that before the end of the year, the new procurement process would have been concluded.
Arc. Onolememen also assured that the outstanding session of the Gombe – Nurman – Yola road is being procured and by 2014, there will be a reasonable achievement. So far, the section one of the road has since been completed.
The Minister further assured the Governor of maximum support from the Ministry in his effort to deliver good roads’ infrastructure to the people of Adamawa State and the generality of the Nigerian citizens.
While addressing the Minister earlier, the Governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Nyako who was accompanied by Distinguished Senator Mohamed Bindo Jibrilla of Adamawa North Senatorial district, appreciated the Minister on his outstanding achievements in the road sector since he assumed office, which he said was marched with professionalism and skilfulness in the industry.
