Mr. Dominic Oseloka Onyechi hails from Onitsha in Anambra State. He was born on September 15th 1956.
His secondary education was at the College of the Immaculate Conception, Enugu where he obtained the West African School Certificate in 1974.
He proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he studied for the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, and obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics ( 2nd Class lower.)
Mr. Onyechi attended and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism in 1990.
He also studied for the Bachelor of Law degree at the University of Lagos and obtained an LLB (Hons) degree, Law in 2002. He subsequently attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja and was called to Bar in 2003.
Mr. Onyechi joined the Federal Civil Service in 1982 as Information Officer, Grade II in the Federal Ministry of Information and rose to the post of Director, in 2012. He was appointed Director, Production, Publication and Documentation Department in July, 2013 in the Federal Ministry of Information.
Some of the short courses he has attended include: Editing and Features writing courses in December 1991; Computer Appreciation for Information Officers in November 2001; Communication Strategies and Monitoring and Evaluation courses organized by RIPA in 2008; and Performance Management, Motivation and Development as well as Project and Programme Management courses in London.
He is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalist, The Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria.
His hobbies include reading and walking.
Mr. Onyechi Dominic Oseloka is married with two children.
Research and Production Department
To ensure timely production and distribution of publications and audio-visual materials on the programmes and policies, of government and the country.
To promote public awareness of Nigeria and her Government through the production of qualitative publicity materials.
1. The Department is responsible for the production of a variety of printed and audio-visual publicity materials designed to promote public awareness about the policies and programmes of the Federal Government and the country.
2. The Department is also responsible for documenting important national events and preserving such documents for future references.
3. The Department co-ordinates research activities, domestic and international seminars and conferences as well as policy matters relating to the parastatals of the Ministry.
